Two tiger cubs
clawing at the wood
and carpet fiber
wall of manhood
gently frustrated
by the inability
to break through
constrained by
rules of engagement
urban jungle affords
wanderers thru wilderness
bereft of vision
of life beyond
reserve perimeter
claws etch
graffiti epitaphs
on hollow monuments
to deforestation
here
where i stood
lived
died
defending with my life
that which is rendered unworthy
an ignoble commitment at best
but one most often
kept sacred
with ferocious intent.
