these serpentine fingers
which seep beneath outer grain
growing for the simple sake
of hastening life towards death
this selfish service
of symbiotic certainty
now reconstructing Earth
this humble honing
of a capacity
for de-composing
muse of brown humus
eagerly harvested
by experimental humans
who imagine meaty texture
makes for savory sustenance
this my dinner dish
is built of dying wishes
my work is cleansing
i defecate restoration
and resurrect the wasted
making way
for the return
of newly fruitful life.
